1
Step Back Separation Drill
Focus
Load & Separation
Execution
From your stance, step your back foot behind your front foot, then step back into your stance as you load your hands. This exaggerates the feeling of coiling the upper body against a stable lower half, improving separation.
2
Constraint Lead Arm Drill
Focus
Kinetic Sequencing & Hand Path
Execution
Take one-handed swings with your front (lead) arm only. This drill forces the body to lead the swing with the lower half and torso rotation, preventing the arms from dominating and reinforcing a proper kinetic sequence.
3
Medicine Ball Rotational Throws
Focus
Rotational Power & Torso Separation
Execution
Stand sideways to a wall holding a 6–8 lb medicine ball. Load back and explosively rotate your hips and torso to throw the ball against the wall. This trains the core and enhances the stretch-shortening cycle for rotational power.
