Projectable Athletic Frame: At 6’2” and 175 lbs, the pitcher possesses a long, lean frame that is ideal for development. Gains in strength and mechanical efficiency could lead to significant velocity increases.
Lack of Hip-Shoulder Separation: This is the most critical area for improvement. The hips and torso rotate as a single unit, which severely limits the body’s ability to store and release elastic energy, thus capping velocity potential.
Inefficient Front Leg Action: The front leg fails to brace or ‘block’ at landing. By remaining bent, it absorbs energy that should be transferred up the kinetic chain to the arm, resulting in a significant loss of power.
Poor Postural Control: The delivery is dominated by a forward lunge and excessive trunk flexion. This causes the head to get out in front of the body, disrupting balance, sequencing, and the efficient transfer of force.
