Overall Summary

Strengths

Strength 1: Exceptional head stability and balance throughout the entire swing, creating a consistent and repeatable motion.

Strength 2: Strong kinetic sequencing with an excellent front-leg block, allowing for efficient energy transfer from the ground up.

Areas For Improvement

Improvement 1: Developing a more dynamic load and separation phase. Creating more 'stretch' between the hips and shoulders will significantly increase rotational power and bat speed.

Improvement 2: Continuing to focus on maximizing bat acceleration through the contact zone to increase power output.

Recommended Drills

1

Step Back Separation Drill

Focus

Load & Separation

Execution

Start in your stance. Step your back foot behind your front foot, then step back into your loaded position. This forces a deeper hip coil and exaggerates the feeling of separation before you stride and swing.

2

Medicine Ball Rotational Throws

Focus

Kinetic Sequencing & Power

Execution

Stand sideways to a wall with a 6-8 lb medicine ball. Load by coiling your hips and shoulders away from the wall, then explosively rotate and throw the ball against the wall. This builds rotational power and reinforces the proper kinetic sequence.

3

Pause at Launch Drill

Focus

Torso Separation & Sequencing

Execution

Go through your load and stride, pausing when your front foot lands. From this stopped position, feel the 'stretch' across your core, then initiate the swing with your hips. This isolates and trains the feeling of separation.
