Controlled Balance Point: The initial phase of the delivery, from wind-up through leg lift, is well-balanced and controlled, providing a stable base from which to initiate the rest of the motion.
Lack of Hip/Shoulder Separation: The primary mechanical inefficiency is the simultaneous rotation of the hips and shoulders. This prevents the creation of a ‘stretch-shortening’ effect in the torso, significantly limiting rotational power and placing more stress on the arm to generate velocity.
Inefficient Front Leg Bracing: The lead leg fails to stabilize and extend (brace) at release. The bent knee absorbs ground reaction forces instead of transferring them up the body, resulting in a substantial loss of kinetic energy and velocity.
Premature Glove-Side Rotation: An aggressive glove-side pull initiates upper body rotation too early, causing the shoulders to open prematurely and pulling the head off the target line. This disrupts sequencing and command.
